Resident of Delhi-6

Zarre zarre mein uska noor hai,
Jhaank khud mein wo naa tujhse door hai,
Ishq hai usse to sabse ishq kar,
Ishq hai usse to sabse ishq kar,
Iss ibaadat ka yahi dastoor hai,
Ismein usmein aur usmein hai wo hi,
Ismein usmein aur usmein hai wo hi,
Yaar mera har taraf bharpoor hai…

Urban Shots

                    ~BY YUSEF KOMUNYAKAA

The sun slides down behind brick dust,
today’s angle of life. Everything
melts, even when backbones
are I-beams braced for impact.

Sequential sledgehammers fall, stone
shaped into dry air
white soundsystem of loose metal
under every footstep.
Wrecking crews,
men unable to catch sparrows without breaking
wings into splinters. Blues-horn
mercy. Bloodlines. Nothing
but the white odor of absence.

The big iron ball
swings, keeping time
to pigeons cooing in eaves
as black feathers
float on to blueprint
parking lots.

the light

The light above your head, watches you everyday.
lighting your day, night and life.

Cause even when it rains outside
There is light
Even when you cry all night
Your alright
Even when you loose your way
You'll get through
Cause there is someone watching over you

Speed Of Life.

The Speed Of Life

I sit and watch,
The cars go by.
My life seems,
So motionless.
Standing still,
But moving so fast.
Faster than the speed of light,
Is the speed of life.
                                                    ~Jamie Collins

Held my camera after a long time to see that the life in the city has been moving at light speeds. A view of the traffic at 100 feet road Indira Nagar.
The distortion in the image is intentional to get a hazy picture indicating the distortion in the minds.

P.S : no idea how many of you missed my this space.. but its good to be back and clicking :)

Flowers of Love

Well it ain't a gonna be as long now as it has been
I got a feelin' that me and love are in tune
And it ain't a gonna be as long now as it has been
Somewhere the flower of love is waitin' to bloom

Sunshine and laughter just over the hill all I got to do is climb
Someone is waitin' true love to give waiting over on the other side

it ain't a gonna be as long now as it has been
Somewhere the flower of love is waitin' to bloom

the bird

"I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. Still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone."

Many know this quote is from a cult classic Hollywood movie "Shawshank Redemption".

But Few know that the story was based from a novella called Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King, from his collection Different Seasons (1982). It was adapted for the screen in 1994 as The Shawshank Redemption, which was nominated for seven Academy Awards in 1994, including Best Picture

The Face of a Man

A man finds room in the few square inches of his face for the traits of all his ancestors; for the expression of all his history, and his wants.  ~Ralph Waldo Emerson, Conduct of Life

The Ocean

The ocean, whose tides respond, like women's menses, to the pull of the moon, the ocean which corresponds to the amniotic fluid in which human life begins, the ocean on whose surface vessels (personified as female) can ride but in whose depth sailors meet their death and monsters conceal themselves... it is unstable and threatening as the earth is not; it spawns new life daily, yet swallows up lives; it is changeable like the moon, unregulated, yet indestructible and eternal

For that Kodak Smile :D

Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK) (commonly known as Kodak) is a multinational imaging and photographic equipment, materials and services company headquartered in Rochester, New York, United States and incorporated in New Jersey. It was founded by George Eastman in 1892.

The letter "K" was a favorite of Eastman's; he is quoted as saying, "it seems a strong, incisive sort of letter."  He and his mother devised the name Kodak with an anagram set. Eastman said that there were three principal concepts he used in creating the name: it should be short; one cannot mispronounce it, and it could not resemble anything or be associated with anything but Kodak.

It has also been suggested that "Kodak" originated from the suggestion of David Houston, a fellow photographic inventor who held the patents to several roll film camera concepts that he later sold to Eastman.Houston, who started receiving patents in 1881, was said to have chosen "Nodak" as a nickname of his home state, North Dakota (NoDak). This is contested by other historians, however, who cite that Kodak was trademarked prior to Eastman buying Houston's patents.
